I was born and raised in western Michigan, and have lived in the Chicago area, New Jersey, Connecticut, Tennessee and presently Washington state. I met my wife in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She is truly incredible, and we have a wonderful family together. We have 3 daughters (18, 15 and 11), and an active 21-month old boy (as of this writing, May 2007). We also recently buried our daughter, Abigail, who passed away before being born earlier this year.

As the tagline says, my educational background is in Nuclear Physics. I also studied Computer Science and Applied Statistics, which I have funneled into my new career as a software engineer at a major software corporation.
